Our Lawden Road self storage facility is ideally situated just outside of the congestion zone in Birmingham City Centre.

The building has an interesting background. It was a government bonded warehouse, archive storage and also a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it location in Peaky Blinders.

A lot has changed over the years and this site is now a thriving storage facility with many sized units available over three floors.

Due to the cavernous size of the building, we have many large spaces available that would suit film locations, wholesale businesses, office relocations; anything really! Give us a call or come and visit.

We are called Storage Works.
We’re a well established self storage business who have been serving customers in Birmingham City Centre since 2004. We are on site 6 days a week and offer quality storage units.

Are we outside the Birmingham Clean Air Zone?

Yes. As of November 2023.
Our self-storage facility is outside of the Birmingham Clean Air Zone/Congestion charge.
Visit us by bus, bike, foot or car.

How secure is our self-storage facility?

Good storage solutions start with security first and foremost.
Our self-storage facility in Birmingham City Centre has access control as well as 24 hour CCTV. We also have an alarm system that keeps the building safe and monitored at night, when our reception is closed. When you choose self-storage, you have the added benefit of storing your belongings inside a building which gives you that additional security compared to other storage solutions like outdoor container storage where you are more vulnerable to intrusions and the elements. What can't I store?

You can store most things with us but we have to exclude some items like:
Flammable liquids, explosives (including fireworks), live animals, gas cylinders or anything illegal. To prevent any possible spillage in your self-storage unit, washing machines and dishwashers should be completely drained of water. Fridges and freezers should be defrosted and petrol mowers should be drained of fuel before they are placed into storage.

Do I need insurance when I rent self-storage?

Let’s talk about insurance.
We do not force you to buy insurance from us but please note, by default your goods will be un-insured. You may wish to check your home insurance as many policies cover self-storage. Please see our terms and conditions for further information or ask a member of staff for details of our insurance policy.

Can I move in straightaway?

Of course.
If we have a suitable sized unit for you and the paperwork is correct, you can move your possessions into our self-storage facility in Birmingham City Centre.

Can I book my storage unit remotely?

You don’t need to make an appointment with us if you wish to visit & book and in fact our booking process can be done completely remotely if you wish.
